Villa renovation
Elegant old home gets a top-to-toe rebuild
What was once a tired old Herne Bay villa is now like a brand new home. With this project, Cardwell Construction gutted the house back to its framing, then totally re-built it to create a beautiful home that’s compatible with a contemporary family lifestyle.
The work included full insulation, wall linings, joinery restoration, new roof, new bathrooms, new kitchen and outdoor living areas. While you might expect a project of this size to take up to a year, it took just three and a half months. Our client needed villa builders that could move quickly, so we hired extra people and got stuck in. For specialised tasks beyond our capabilities, we harnessed our builders’ Auckland network of reliable and affordable tradies.
Turning a nursery into a walk-in wardrobe
and ensuite
Bathrooms are a Cardwell Construction specialty, so this project was exactly right for us. It involved transforming a small nursery room into a walk-in wardrobe and bathroom to create the ultimate master bedroom suite. During the project we had the opportunity to come up with ideas that made both the wardrobe and bathroom a joy to use. We know how smart thinking can add value without adding cost.
Gym fit out
Transforming a warehouse into an attractive
and functional space for fitness
The NZ Muscle Gym on Auckland’s North Shore was once a shabby warehouse. Now it’s a cool black, white and red 24/7 workout facility that’s built to handle the daily wear and tear that comes with the pursuit of muscle gain and fitness.
Cardwell Construction took control of this light commercial building project from go to whoa, including organising the checks required by the council. The work includes design and planning, special flooring, painting and interior decoration, creation of the reception area, construction of the members’ bathrooms and supervision of sub-contractors - Cardwell Construction did it all!

Bowling green
A joint project between Cardwell Construction, Frontline Drainage & Tiger Turf
This Bowling Green was built in the heart of Devonport, the process of this involved 3 Cardwell Construction staff full time for two weeks, profiling the site to dig foundations for our posts, pour then box up.
Frontline follows us with the digger backfilling and laying their drainage as we go, Accuracy is important on these and the playing plinths must be built within 3-6 mm in height. Once prepped TigerTurf come in and lay turf ready to hand over to the client.

In collaboration with BGIS and Laser Plumbing Mairangi Bay we undertake maintenance/repair works on Auckland wide Mobil sites.
